Emotional Farewellto the Dell in fans' six-a-side tournament

Scored forever in the memory

It was their chance to play on the field of dreams before 103 years of footballing comes to an end in two days time.

Businesses in the south paid for the priviledge of letting their workers play on the hallowed turf of the Dell in Southampton - the second last chance for the public to enjoy a kickabout there before the gates closed forever.
Deloitte & Touche kindly trumped up the ante for their workers to have the chance for a final fling.  The Deloitte side boasted Dave Hedges and Andy Pickels who runs Robert Half in the Dads League . . . Oh and also Mal Barton - how did he get in there.  Honestly, you should have seen him he had a grim from ear to ear all day.  It's a wonder his face didn't split.

Deloitte had a bit of a cold start and should have done better, early on but rallied to take a fine victory over a powerful Dell Community Coaches side and then failed to turn complete possession into goals agains Graham Hiley, Grant Coleman and their cronies with Power FM.  Finally fizzling out against a weak Shilling United - should have done better.

But ain;t it funny, everyone seemed very happy indeed going home!
